Amber Lawrence, Visual Arts & Education Intern, and Liam Briscoe, European Awareness & Education Intern, have created The Project Room for local students who wish to take art from education to occupation.
The programme's focus will be to deliver practical workshops, encouraging the use of new mediums whilst allowing the students to review, and perhaps even change, their perceptions of art through theoretical and debate sessions.
The Project Room is an eight week programme at the end of which the participants will have the opportunity to design and install an exhibition of their work at the Arts Centre, which will be open to the public.
In addition, there will be a chance for each student to earn 35 UCAS points as part of the Gold Arts Award - a qualification recognised by universities.
Application forms are available to download: the closing deadline for applications is the 22nd December and there will be an informal interview. For more information about The Project Room, contact either Amber or Liam at the Arts Centre: [email protected] [email protected]
